Visit with Santa!

We made the trip to see Santa today! I knew that Tyler wouldn't shy away from Santa this year because we've been talking about him for a while now. Tyler had a list of things he planned to tell Santa, like how he's been a good boy and how we just finished putting up our Christmas tree last night. He was prepared to tell Santa about his wish list that consisted of things like monster trucks, trains, a red angry bird and a stuffed kitten. He was ready to go!

As I rushed in the mall to grab a spot in what I figured would be a long line, Travis and Tyler got stuck at a kiosk selling remote controlled helicopters (we've had one, they're junk, but Tyler was fascinated!). We immediately got to visit with Santa (hooray for no lines!!!) and Tyler went first to chat and boy did he chat! It was actually pretty funny to see him so into his quick conversation with Santa. He was shy, but still chatting away. Amazing at how different things can be one year later. We can call that a SUCCESS (because really a 3 1/2 year old shouldn't be terrified of Santa, right?)!

Kinley was up and in true first-visit-with-Santa fashion, she freaked. I think Travis even said something about not seeing the face she made before. Tyler seemed pretty concerned about her initially, but got distracted as I was yelling to look at the camera. Ha! She cried, but actually had moments where she would look over at Tyler and pull it together and then start crying again. If Tyler wasn't with her, she would have been a hot mess. Seeing her take comfort in her brother when she's just not sure absolutely fills my heart with all kinds of happy. :-) Anyway, crying baby with Santa equals SUCCESS! We're two for two... this was a great visit!

Until we were on our way home and Tyler yelled, "Oh no! I forgot to ask Santa about my (stuffed) kitty!" I quickly told him that I got to talk to Santa and told him about the kitty and some other things on his list and he seemed very relieved. I asked him what he did ask Santa for and as it turns out, the only thing he asked for was a helicopter for his dad. Seriously love that kid!!

These are some of the professional photos. This was the first year that they emailed all the pictures to you! The last one is the one we purchased and already framed!
