Dressing Up

I had such a hard time picking outfits for Kinley's 6 month pictures and then our family pictures this year and these are all the test photos I took trying to decide what I liked best. They are too cute not to share. I had planned on Kinley wearing the adorable dress in the first two pictures for her 6 month photos, but when I tried it on her a couple of days before the session, the stinker had outgrown it! The same thing kind of happened with our family pictures. We were supposed to take them in October, but because our photographer got sick and because of scheduling conflicts, our session was cancelled twice and we didn't take them until December. Not only did Kinley outgrow outfits left and right, the weather changed a lot by the time we took our pictures. So, these are all the different outfits I considered. Talk about stressful. haha. It's cute to see little Kinley just barely six months old in the first pictures. :-)

And the party is STILL going because that's how we do it. ;-) Round three! We went to Travis' parent's house for dinner. Again, this was a little out of the norm as we would typically see them briefly at Travis' aunt's house for lunch, but we wouldn't get together with them until the day after Christmas to celebrate. It was nice to have dinner and spend more time together actually on Christmas day. The only downside was that by this time, Tyler and Kinley were both fuss buckets and were pretty exhausted. Tyler passed out on the five minute ride over there. It's a lot for them, regardless, if we do it all in two days or three. And keeping with doing things a little out of the norm, Travis' mom made a prime rib for dinner and it was oh, so good! Seriously. She said it was the first time she ever made one and it turned out great. More presents and more spoiling. I didn't get many pictures of the kids opening gifts because they were being pretty cranky, but I think Tyler's favorite gift was a Captain America action figure and I think Kinley's fav were these two adorable small Cabbage Patch dolls from Aunt Andrea (I sure loved them, haha). It was a good evening, but I think we were all glad Christmas was nearing an end so that we could climb in our beds. ;-)
