Mothers Day

Tyler stole the show on my Mother's Day, but I am completely okay with that!! Today is the first day that he rode his bike without training wheels. Yes, he just turned eight last week. Who cares?! :-) Tyler took a couple of good falls on his bike a couple of years ago and despite our attempts to get him back on and riding, he became so cautious and shut down. This was also during a time when all of his little neighborhood friends started riding without training wheels and I think he was self-conscious by his training wheels and just lost all interest in riding his bike period. He's been content with scooting around the hood on his scooter. Until today! Today was the day... he just picked up his old bike and took off with no real help and now he LOVES his bike! Sometimes we just have to sit back and let our kids learn and explore on their own terms and when they feel comfortable. :-) He obviously needs a bigger bike now. :-)
