Surgery Day

My brave little boy underwent surgery today for a re-circumcision.
Without getting into too much detail here, he had a lot of problems from his original circumcision that needed to be corrected. We were not happy about having to do this, but it ultimately had to be done and I am glad to have it behind us now. Hopefully, he won't have any future problems.

He's doing as good as I suppose he can be for the moment. He rested a lot this afternoon and he's taking a pain reliever, but he's still very uncomfortable. He sits down with caution and walks with his legs spread wider than normal. The doctor said he should be feeling better within three days. Until then, he's receiving extra hugs and kisses.

(These are pre-surgery pictures. He definitely was not this happy afterwards. He also couldn't walk for a couple of hours afterwards due to a nerve block they gave him)

*Grammy left while Tyler was napping this afternoon and she wasn't able to give him the present she got for him... These pictures and video are for you, Grammy. Thanks again for all of your help today!*

Dressed up!

It doesn't happen often, but I love it when we do get to dress up a little. (We're on our way to a wedding)

Florida Vacation

Our first family vacation went so much better than I expected! We left on Saturday morning (9/12) and flew into Ft. Lauderdale, FL and drove down to The Keys for the week. It is a beautiful area, but a lot different than the tropical get-a-way I imagined. Everything (and I mean everything) is geared towards fishing and diving. Travis was in Heaven and I told him I felt duped, but he assures me that even he had no idea it was all about the "Salt Life" until we got there. He definitely wasn't complaining though and I tried to make the best of it... afterall, we were there for six days. Tyler did absolutely great on this vacation! From the plane rides to eating out, it was a different child.. haha. There was just so much new stuff to see and do that kept him entertained and I can't believe I spent so much time worrying beforehand. It was a much needed, relaxing vacation, but I am glad to leave the rum runners and conch fritters behind and finally be home. I took 300 pictures (surprised??), so it will take me a few days to sort through them and get some posted.

Random story

We have so many funny stories (at least we think they are funny) about Tyler and I think I'm going to start jotting them down so that I don't forget them. Here's the quick story from tonight:

After dinner, we decided to have chocolate pudding for dessert. Travis has one and I have one and we usually each give Tyler a few bites. Travis and I had been in a very competitive mood and were racing to see who could give Tyler a bite first. Finally, we both put pudding on a spoon and each held it in front of him. Whichever spoon he took first would make that person the winner! The stinker grabbed BOTH spoons at the same time. His momma isn't raising a fool! :-)

Meeting Mr. Blake

Our friends, Casey and Sarah, came by to visit with their little boy, Blake. This was the first time they met Tyler and the boys were so cute playing together.

UT Football is here

And Daddy is very happy! Here is our little Longhorn showing off his new hat. (Note- I put it on the "preppy" way and he insists on putting it on either backwards or sideways- haha!)
