Port Aransas trip #2

We wanted to take one more getaway before school started and headed back to Port Aransas for some fishing and fun in the sun. Before kiddos and back when Travis and I had our own boat, we always fished out of Port O'Connor. It's just a fishing town with nada else to do and I was never really that excited to go. After our trip to Port A last month, we were actually excited to come back and it was so much fun! We rented a little house in town that had a little pool and golf cart. We had a couple of good days catching mangrove snapper and the kids absolutely loved having our private pool when we came in from fishing! We were there during a total solar eclipse. I think I read the last total eclipse was in 1979 and the next one will be April 8, 2024, so that was pretty neat to experience. Of course, the kids viewed it from the pool. We enjoyed good food, ice cream, the candy shop and cruising around town in our little golf cart. This was the first time that we've ever taken a golf cart to the beach and it's everything when you're toting around sandy kids and toys. I'm sold on one of those! The evenings were filled with s'mores by the fire, swimming under the stars and listening to Fleetwood Mac. It was just fun for everyone and it felt relaxing. It's exactly what we needed before the chaos of a new school year starts.
