Kinley's 2nd Birthday Party!

Kinley had her second birthday party at the house and just like last year, it was beautiful weather during the weeks leading up to her party and then it rained all day the day before and the morning of her party. :-( At least it was 70 degrees and not 43 like last year, so the kids were able to play outside, but the constant in and out of the house made for one muddy mess on our carpets. I think I'm just going to have to accept that it's too hard to plan a Spring backyard party with our unpredictable weather this time of year and do something different in the future. :-( With all of that said, I think the kids still had a great time and that's all that matters. Kinley adores animals, so we had a very small petting zoo set up and she loved it! I think it had some baby chicks, 2 ducks, 2 bunnies, lamb, goat and pig. She enjoyed the baby chicks the most. They were the hit with all the kids. It was great to spend time with our wonderful family and friends and we appreciate everyone celebrating our little girl's special day!

Weekend in Port O'Connor

Despite our entire family feeling under the weather, Travis talked me into spending the weekend in Port O'Connor. Tyler had been itching to go fishing and kept talking about going out on the boat and Travis had me convinced that the salt air would do us all good. It turned out to be a pretty dreary/super windy/cold weekend, so I'm not sure that being out all day actually was good for us, but it definitely didn't hurt us any. :-) This was Kinley's first ride on the boat and up until naptime hit us, she did pretty well and had fun. Tyler got to drive the boat a couple of times and he LOVED that! He settled for being Junior Captain, although he really pushed for the Captain title. We had zero luck fishing, but the kids had a blast collecting sea shells on Sea Shell Island (yes, it really is called that!). It turned out to be a good weekend away. We needed it!!
