First Day of Kindergarten!

So this new chapter is happening and Tyler was more than ready and excited for it. I've said it before, but I'm just so thankful for our pre-k program that we had last year. It prepped him for this day and experience more than I knew it would. He has a desire to learn and loves being social and just couldn't wait for all of the fun that kindergarten would bring. Everything that I've heard about his teacher, Ms. Crawford, has been amazing. Apparently, she's the teacher that other teachers request for their own children and that's always a great sign!! Tyler got pretty lucky and has two of his good neighborhood friends (Gavin and Marlo) and a couple of friends from pre-k in his class. I think he's going to have so much fun! :-)

I felt so sad watching little ones clinging to their moms and crying out in the hallway. It was heartbreaking. Meanwhile, I wanted to sneak this last picture of Tyler and he said, "Hey, aren't you supposed to be leaving now??" :-/

Summer fun!

I don't know what it was about Tyler starting school that made me feel like this was the last summer we'll ever have because obviously that's not the case, but this summer just felt special... the calm before being thrown into schedules and routines... and I wanted the kids to just have fun and I'm telling ya, they did have FUN!! In addition to our two summer vacas, we spent our days having a lot of playdates and lounging at our neighborhood pool or the YMCA pool or splashing in our backyard. Kinley took Mommy and Me dance classes and Tyler did some art classes at the library. We visited Chick-fil-A, yogurt shops and our local snow cone stand way too many times. We took advantage of open gym at the gymnastics place and did a lot of jumping at jumpy places or the trampoline park. We saw movies, ate crappy pizza, played games and went bowling. We got a lot closer with our neighborhood friends and had fun BBQing and ignored bed times for late night play time. It was definitely a busy summer and I really am sad that it's over and our new routine of early mornings and early nights are staring us in the face, but this gives us something to look forward to for next summer! :-)
