19 mos old

My little boy is on a fast track to talking! It's crazy how vocal he has become this past month! He has been exploring different sounds and attempts to say anything that we ask him to. Some of the words that he often says is: bubbles, booboo, no..no, baby, body, uh-oh, whoa, please, more, eat, tree and down. A few of the words that may not be clear to anyone else but us are: Cooper, star, rock, door and some of the primary colors. He has the sweetest little voice and watching him learn to communicate with us is so fun!

He is already showing an interest in potty training! Actually, I'm not sure if he's interested in potty training or just trying to be like his dad, but either way, he currently pees in the toilet while standing on a small stool at least once a day. He would probably do it more if I encouraged it, but I haven't decided if we are going to go that route (the big toilet) or purchase a potty chair for more independent potty training. Oh.. it's always something.

Oh- and I forgot to mention that his new interest is.. trains! He has an ear for those at our house like you wouldn't believe and of course, he spots out any train live, on TV, in books, his toys, etc.

Funny for the night-

As I was taking a bath this evening, I hear Travis and Tyler sneak up to the outside of the bathroom door and Travis says "Shhhh.. let's get Mommy when she comes out" ... or something like that. So, I said, "Tyler, are you hiding outside the door?" Tyler says, "Yeah!!!" I said, "Are you trying to scare Mommy?" Tyler says "uhhmm, YEAH!!!" (very enthusiastically, I might add!)

Thanksgiving-1

The holidays are here! Justin took a week off from work and we stayed at Poppa's house in Waco for the weekend. The boys fried a turkey and we all had a good time catching up.

















This is the power plant my dad is building/managing in Riesel, TX just outside of Waco. It is the largest project that his company, Zachry Construction, has ever done. We stopped by to take a look at it and it was pretty cool.

18 mos. check-up late

Tyler had his 18 month check-up with Dr. Anna late because we were undecided about giving him the MMR shot at this time. We ultimately decided to hold off on that shot until his two year appointment. Everything else went well. He weighs 24.2lbs (25th percentile) and is 32in. long (50-75th percentile).

New camera

I picked out a GREAT DSLR camera for my birthday and I am just in love with it! I barely know how to use it and went to a class just to learn the very basics, but I can't put it down! It helps that I have a great subject to practice on. :-) I'm sure there will be many pictures of Tyler coming soon as I learn how to use this thing!

30 celebration

We invited some of our close friends over for a small birthday/dinner celebration yesterday. It was great visiting with everyone- still can't believe I'm 30!
