Leap with Friends

The girls and I went to see the movie, 'Leap' with some dance friends. Super, duper cute movie and inspiring for my little dancers. :-)

Pie in the Sky

We went to the first ever 'Pie in the Sky' in Kyle yesterday and it was so neat! I have had the hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque, NM on my radar for a long time and I'm sure with three little kiddos and our hectic lives, it will stay on the radar for a while. This was just 15 minutes down the road and we were up close and personal with several hot air balloons... the kids even touched them as they were inflating! Well, Tyler and Kinley did. Brooklyn freaked her freak as they were inflating and wanted to be as far away as possible. Travis stayed around the food and beer tent with her, while I took Tyler and Kinley up close. Since we came for the evening portion, we didn't get to see them take off (only in the early AM), but it was still a fun experience (for most of us)!

First day of school

It's the first day of school and I'm feeling a little emotional about it. I can't figure out exactly why. I think it's just because they are growing so fast. 1st and 4th grade sounds so big to me. I was just happy with kinder and 3rd grade (and they were, too). Kinley's teacher, Mrs. del Castillo, has only been at the school for a year and Tyler's teacher, Miss Kypke, is brand new... like yesterday, so I don't know anything about either of them. I have heard great things and they both welcomed the kids with big smiles and hugs this morning, so that was good. Kinley's best friends from her kinder class (Betty, Abby, Avery, Kenzie and Brooke) moved with her to Mrs. del Castillo's class and Tyler has two of his best friends (Jacob and Levi) with him. They are both pretty excited and had a great day, so I should be as well!
