Summer fun!

I don't know what it was about Tyler starting school that made me feel like this was the last summer we'll ever have because obviously that's not the case, but this summer just felt special... the calm before being thrown into schedules and routines... and I wanted the kids to just have fun and I'm telling ya, they did have FUN!! In addition to our two summer vacas, we spent our days having a lot of playdates and lounging at our neighborhood pool or the YMCA pool or splashing in our backyard. Kinley took Mommy and Me dance classes and Tyler did some art classes at the library. We visited Chick-fil-A, yogurt shops and our local snow cone stand way too many times. We took advantage of open gym at the gymnastics place and did a lot of jumping at jumpy places or the trampoline park. We saw movies, ate crappy pizza, played games and went bowling. We got a lot closer with our neighborhood friends and had fun BBQing and ignored bed times for late night play time. It was definitely a busy summer and I really am sad that it's over and our new routine of early mornings and early nights are staring us in the face, but this gives us something to look forward to for next summer! :-)

South Padre Vaca

So we've been a little spoiled this summer and just got back from our second 4-day vacation to South Padre! This was a really long overdue beach vacation for us. Tyler has asked to go to the beach and play in the sand for the past three summers and unfortunately, it just never worked out due to something.... either Kinley being a baby and/or a horrible car rider or illnesses (when we actually did have plans to go to Galveston). It was kind of sad when Tyler made my Mother's Day card at pre-k this year and said that his favorite thing to do with his Mommy was go to the beach in Texas. Ooopse! We owed this little guy a fun beach trip and after our vacation to Cali and Disney, I think we all needed a more relaxing get-a-way!

First evening at the beach after playing in the condo pool.

Schlitterbahn and not many pictures for obvious reasons, but the kids had so much fun! ;-)

Sunset, dinner and fireworks at Pier 19

Our fancy beach set-up. Travis is pretty handy to have around. ;-)

This is NOT staged! Love these lovebugs!

Putt-Putt after dinner at Louie's Backyard. I didn't get very many good pictures, but this one of Kinley's "Oh yeah!" expression after getting her ball in the hole cracks.me.up!!

Captain Tyler

Who can resist a little fishing at the coast? NOT Travis! :-) We did a quick charter and actually scored some pretty yummy mangrove snapper.

Kinley didn't want to get too close. ;-)
