Visiting the San Antonio Zoo has been on our list of things to do/places to see for a while now. The weather has been gorgeous(!) so we finally made the trip down there. We decided to make a weekend out of it and stayed overnight on the river walk. Tyler was VERY excited about staying in a hotel room, more than actually seeing animals at the zoo. We got a little spoiled by our near perfect evening out at the Boo-da Fest and had high hopes for perfect little angels for our family weekend, but we definitely had some fussy and cranky moments from both kids. It was still fun to get away from the house for a bit and spend time together.
A little pre-trick-or-treating at the Boo-da Fest downtown. I'm not sure what was up with our kids, but they were both on their best behaviors, despite a crazy cold front blowing in while we were out and Kinley not taking an afternoon nap. Tyler was so social and polite while trick-or-treating and Kinley enjoyed people watching and cuddling with me. We had a really nice dinner at a new restaurant downtown and again, the kids were great. SO not the norm for BOTH kids to be so good on an outing. It made for such a great evening!
Boo!!
And now they're over it. ;-)
Tyler and his little friend, Lucas, checking out the fire truck~
Tow Mater was there!
Snug as a bug in a rug~
Secretly, Captain America wants to be something scary~
We went to this fun little "amusement park" this past weekend for Tyler. It was hardly what I would consider an amusement park with only 7 rides that were old and rusty at best (think... opened in 1979 and looks untouched since then), but Tyler didn't know any different and had a blast! And those old style rides are actually what made it so cool. Boat rides in a pool of water, airplanes with a real working propeller, an old school carousel... I'm glad we finally got up to north Austin to check it out.
Of course, the train was the first order of business~
This poor kid took a face dive at full speed right off of our front porch while running out of the house. He later told me that he was looking up at the spider web decorations that we have and missed the step. These pictures are from two days after the incident and don't look bad at all compared to my initial glance when I was worried that he broke his nose and was checking to make sure all of his teeth were in place. He turned out to be fine... just a little swelling, scrapes and a busted lip. We were both pretty dramatic over the situation. haha.
